FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

"Kate White Wins Decorating Competition!"

Four of SRBA's talented decorators competed for the honor of representing SRBA at the RBA/IBIE Show's prestigious Pillsbury's 11th Grand Champion Creative Decorating Competition, in Schaumburg, Illinois, Oct. 2nd-4th.   Under lots of pressure and watchful eyes, the ladies had 31/2 hours to do cakes in four different categories: wedding cake, fondant cake, sculpted cake, and (floral & figure piping) cupcakes.  They had some unique ideas for their cakes.  You can see each contestant and their cakes below.

Kate White, from Honeymoon Bakery in Rome, Georgia, won the competition.  Not only did Kate receive a nice trophy for her outstanding work, she will have her airfare to the national competition paid by SRBA and RBA will cover her room.

The competition at RBA is extremely stressful, with approximately 10 hours in which to decorate: at least a 3-tier wedding cake, 8" round fondant cake, 5 custom design quarter sheet cakes, 3 floral quarter sheet cakes, and a sculptured cake.  The 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place winners of each category and over-all winners will receive cash & metals, and the Grand Champion will also win a beautiful glass trophy. All SRBA members Wish Kate the Best of Luck!
